Kid Start Spanish Game

Here is a little information about one of my more consistent and successful clients Kick Start Spanish.
We manufacture the card decks for this game.
He has this cool deck which is a game that teaches young children Spanish.
As you all know, I’ve been printing all sorts of games for many years now. But a few years ago I started printing a game for a program called Kid Start Spanish. As I got to know more about this game it stood out to me because it was focused around learning. This game is focused around teaching young children Spanish. It’s laid out like a memory game and the designer of the program Ricardo Cuevas at Kid Start Spanish has made it so that each word has a matching picture. So that the game starts with all words and pictures hidden and the player slowly uncovers the pieces and matches picture with its word. So the word airplane will have a matching airplane drawing and so forth. This particular method of teaching is very interesting since it takes the stress out and instead you get to have fun with your kids while they learn. And isn’t having fun with your kids what it’s all about??
This particular game is part of a larger bundle which includes DVD videos, fun songs, colorful flashcards, a matching app for iphone/ ipad and access to stream the DVD videos on your Smartphone or Tablet. It’s an interesting concept and judging by the print orders it’s doing very well in the market.

3 great educational card games

NANOBUGS

NANOBUGS is an extremely  well drawn card game with terrific cartoon characters that give life to the microbes in the world and teach us all how to learn how to live in harmony with them.

These fun cartoon characters are called “nanobugs” and they provide an effective teaching tool for introducing elementary and middle school students to microbiology/virology.   The bacteria and fungi are morphologically-correct and the information on the collectible cards is written for this age.  The power color and power value were determined based on the virulence, pathogenicity, antimicrobial resistance and treatment.  In the future, a set of collectible cards will be developed for health professionals, collegiate biology students, and students in the health professions.  These cards will utilize more medical and scientific terminology and will have more detailed information.

Be sure to check out the Infection Information Sheets on the Kids page of the website.  These sheets can be utilized as content for health promotion components of the curriculum for elementary students.  One school system used these sheets as the content resource for a poster contest focused on infection prevention for their health promotion week.

MATH WONDERS – CLOCKWISE

Clockwork – teaches decimals and fractions by associating them with the clock face – simply amazing!

FROM AN EDUCATOR: On a personal note, I have been involved in the field of education for over 30 years, and involved with materials development since 1994. I have grown skeptical of all educational statements that claim to ‘revolutionize’ the industry, because in almost every case, the ‘revolutionary’ concept turns out to be a slightly different strategy with new vocabulary attached. For example, ‘No Child Left Behind’ used to be called ‘Goals 2000’. Before ‘Goals 2000’, it was called ‘Educational Reform,’ which was a new word for ‘Restructuring’. Over the years, I have also grown skeptical of programs that say they are ‘effective with both Gifted and Special Education populations’. And, I’ve always assumed that programs that claimed to be just as effective with each group didn’t work at all. Clockwise, however, does indeed work for all groups, serving the individual learning needs of each. This program has the potential to change the way American students learn fractions, decimals, percents, and degrees, and could shape instruction for the next century.

Is Color More Important Than Content in Kids Card Games?

What makes an educational card game for kids a success? We believe color may play an even more important role in the success of a children’s card game than content.

According to this article  on why bright colors appeal to children  – games need to be colorful in order to be effective with children and to help them learn more effectively.

One of the obvious ways to infuse color right off the bat is in the packaging. Packaging for children’s card games should be extremely colorful, bright and incorporate a visually attractive layout.  Tell the buyer what it is about – but make it look great.

These Syllables Reading Center Educational Playing Cards  have colorful and well designed packaging.

So while content really should always be “king” it is possible that without the color the child may not ever fully appreciate the content.  Combining color with well thought out educational content is the key to ensuring the success of a card teaching method for children.

With questions like “Is fighting a sign of a healthy relationship? – these intimate questions bring out points to couples so that they can set boundaries and improve communication.  Custom card games have long been used to try to help couples explore their relationship. The game is a twist on the standard in that it involves asking truly intimate questions of each other.  Although there are cards that deal with other subjects – the primary focus of this deck is on intimacy and the role of the couples most intimate relations – in other words there is a lot of sex talk involved in this card deck.  Some of the questions I can honestly tell you I have never discussed with anyone – so it is a pretty in depth look at a relationship.  I would say it definitely has some good questions in there that are certainly worth addressing if you have the nerve to do it.
